Mission
Improve access to prosthetic knowledge.
Our mission is to develop responsible AI tools that support prosthetic care, education, research, and innovation by improving access to high-quality, clinically relevant information.
AI4Prosthetics, or AI4Px, was created to explore how artificial intelligence can responsibly support the prosthetics profession. The goal is not to replace clinicians, technicians, educators, or researchers. The goal is to create tools that make reliable prosthetic knowledge easier to access, organize, and apply.
Mission
Our mission is to develop responsible AI tools that support prosthetic care, education, research, and innovation by improving access to high-quality, clinically relevant information.
Vision
Our vision is a future where prosthetics professionals can use intelligent digital tools to search complex information, compare options, strengthen clinical reasoning, and support better outcomes while maintaining professional judgment at the center of care.
What AI4Px is building
The first AI4Px product is DULPA, the Digital Upper Limb Prosthetic Assistant. DULPA is publicly available as a beta AI search tool for upper-limb prosthetic concepts, terminology, clinical considerations, control strategies, component topics, and source-supported learning.
AI4Px defines the broader mission: responsible AI tools for prosthetic care, education, research, consulting, and collaboration.
DULPA is the public beta Digital Upper Limb Prosthetic Assistant. It is intended to support learning, research, and professional information review while feedback is collected and the user experience is refined.
Values
AI tools should support, not replace, professional clinical judgment and appropriate patient-specific decision making.
Information tools should be grounded in reliable prosthetic knowledge and should make source quality an important part of the user experience.
Tools should be clear, fast, and useful in real clinical, educational, technical, and research workflows.
AI4Px should grow through feedback from clinicians, technicians, residents, students, researchers, educators, and industry partners.
